Woke up to a lazy Thursday and made a last minute lunch appointment with WK. We went to Stamford Tyres for awhile before making our way to Swensens.

Not that I'm particularly fond of it, but since there's a 1-for-1 promo, might as well make full use of it.

Went back home for a nap before waking up to a cheeseburger. After a gym session and a car wash later, Mom and I made our way to Viv0 to meet Dad and Gerrie. Food at Thai Accent has always been great. Talked about the wedding intentions.

After dinner, Gerrie and I went to shop for our bands. I would think we had decided which band to purchase, but would want to wait till we pay for the Option fee for our flat.

A cuppa Belgian Chocolate ended the night.

Back to work tomorrow!

Happened to see him at the carpark and we decided to have yakun before going for our bi-weekly meeting.

Today was Irene's last day, thus Sharon and Raymond decided to throw a min-farewell dinner for her. Since Gerrie couldn't meet me today, I made a super last minute decision to meet them at Kushin Bo.

Food was so-so only.

Def. not worth the price.

Met up with Jackioo and Aaron just now for our weekly supper cum car wash meeting.

Been a super long time since I or any of the gang members have seen him.

I had lunch with 2 other colleagues today. Despite a cheap lunch at Swensens yesterday, I was determined not to step into any restaurant for lunch.

Okay, so I did not have yong tau foo today.

I had lunch at Soup Restaurant and tea break at Toast Box instead.

So it's going to be yong tau foo from Wednesday onwards! And that's a promise to myself.

After waiting for a week, the parcel has finally arrived!

I ordered a total of 4 tees, with Bernard and Kellyn sharing the shipment cost with me. I love my Russian. S size is fitting for me. =)

I like the Japan one as well. However, it turned out to be too big for me. Anyone interested? It's M size btw.

Happy But Tired

It was really good to see my c0lleagues at my former br@nch today. MeE Yan and I had went back to meet our b0ss to do our apraisals. He treated us to Thai, then proceeded to do the appraisal in the office. I got a very good rating. =)

Thinking back, God has been very wonderful for me. Things have went the way I wanted to since @rmy days. Completing my studies while working.

Obtaining my present job and getting decent paychecks for the past year.

For not going back to the former bank. I might have lost my job.

And the d0wnturn has not entirely become a bad thing. Firstly, it alloewd me to rest for awhile and now that I'm transferred to a br@nch with better walk-in, I'm looking forward to getting back my due c0mmissi0n.

Because I have been receiving basic pay for the last few months, I would be eligible to get a hd8 l0an.

But most importantly, I want to thank God for brining me back to Him.

And thank you to Gerrie for her understanding despite my crazy schedule.

Friday. Met Gerrie at 0rchard to have dinner. After some window shopping, I met with the Subbie bros. This time round, there are additional crew. The meetup location was too packed, so we went to a more secluded area. And someone suggested we should do an impromptu photoshoot.

Managed to take a photo of a new crew member.

Here it is...

Went in to JB this morning alone. I had severe shoulder pain these few days and decided to go for a massage. It did me some good.

Perhaps too stressed out.

A new beginning for me on Monday.

I really wonder if I wouldn't have a proper weekend in time to come.

Working in an area which belongs to a minority community, I'm unfazed to big houses already. Be it swanky condos, or a 3-storey landed building that qualifies to be the on the cover of Architectural Review, I've seen it all.

Or so I thought.

Just yesterday, I went to another huge landed property that has a C15C0 guard. I've seen houses with Gurkh@5 but these are exceptionals. Even taxi drivers would tell you those houses belong to mini5ter5.

Here it is, a C1C50 doing sentry. Not to mention the number of cars in the compound, the grandeur of the main wing... And no, it does not belong to a mini5ter.

Wow.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by the awe of nature today. Here it is...

Gerrie and I have been trying to search for a place which we can call home. Be it first hand or resale, we tried it all, but to no avail.

A personal friend was telling me how busy she was in renovating her 9th pr0perty, with 2 more units in the same devel0pment left untouched. She got more excited when she heard there's an unit on sale which is in one of the prime areas going for $1.4m.

So cheap!!!

Pengz.

Another personal friend has also purchased a pr0perty, putting more than 20% downpayment. In cash.

It's one thing to be contended to have a roof above our heads. But I guess success stories would propel me to work harder.

Time seemed to fly by so fast when you just want to have fun, lay back and relax. The weekend started earlier this time by having dinner with Gerrie and my friends on Friday night, something we haven't done for many months.

The meetup with the Subbie brothers at Queens T0wn Club went well, with more newcomers this time round.

I had planned to take Saturday, Monday and Tuesday off but decided not to. Things are not looking too good, so better not. After work on Saturday, Gerrie and I went to JBee to meet our friends. We spent the day with lunches and dinners and haircuts.

I never thought I would talk about credit cards but here it is... I would like to say M@yb@nk is not too bad. On Saturday, I wanted to use my Mayb@nk Sub@ru card at the petrol station, which gives a 5% rebate. However, after much time spent searching for it, it was nowhere to be found. I ended up using the Amex.

I just called M@yb@nk and was pleasantly surprised to get through to the c0ntact centre so quickly. I not only had requested to have my card back, but I would be able to retrieve the voucher which I had redeemed last year.

Am3x was quite cool too, with its staff calling twice to ensure I have received the card and to guide me to access to my statement online.

Another 50mins to Monday. Oh well... night.

I had to attend a full day course at HQ and didn't want to cough out $50 for parking, so I decided to take the train. The train wasn't as packed as I had expected. There used to be much pushing especially during the morning crowd madness.

I had also thought there would be people fighting for seats. I was standing in front of this lady, whom later got up to alight. There was another lady standing beside me and I imagined her pushing me aside to get that seat, which I had no intention of taking anyway. However, she just looked at me as if she was asking for permission to sit. I simply showed her the seat and said, "Please."

Nowadays, 5ingap0reans got manners eh. =)

After the training, I had wanted to head down to 5ingTel to make an impulse purchase of the iPhone, despite the fact that my exisiting contract with another telco is still valid. Luckily, 5ingTel had moved.

Later part in the evening, as I was in the gym at Fairway Club, someone approached me, "Are you Felix?"

I took off my iPod and replied "Yeah."

He passed me my LV wallet, which I had dropped beside my car.

Can you imagine how I had felt at that point of time?

This world, despite it being so gloomy now, still have many kind souls.

I would like to end this post with the following song. I chanced upon it while listening to the iPod during the train ride. I can still remember my best friend singing in those KTV session.

I watched the Taiwanese dance show on Chn U and found most of the dances really cool. I think I couldn't sway my hips without letting out an "Ouch".

But here's the real deal. I found a clip of a dance by 2 young people. A guy without a leg, and a lady lost her arm in a car accident. It turned out to be one of the best dances ever. Forward to 40sec.

CNY has always meant as a period of obligatory and compromised time to me. Maybe it's due to the some of the customs which I find ridiculous. Pardon me, but why is it bad luck to wear black on CNY and it's ok for the rest of the year?

Why does sweeping rubbish construed as sweeping away luck? Is rubbish treated as luck?

Why are profanities only frowned upon during CNY when it has always been socially constructed as desecrating anyway?

Forgive me. All these customs are beyond logical comprehension. After all, this world, I presume, has evolved.

Anyway...

This year's CNY has been made special when 2 families met for the first time this afternoon. All I would say is that I'm glad. =)

It's the Year of the Bull~~shit~~.

The week leading to the Lunar New Year had been a busy one.

I spent one day to pack my room, throwing unnecessary stuff and folded my clothes.

I spent 2 days painting the gate and door.

I spent 3 days painting the living room. The painting was done at night immediately when I reached home after work.

I spent 4 hours washing and waxing 2 cars. And I was impressed with what Duragloss can do. Blackathy has not bathed for slightly less than a year. And the paintwork had been damaged. But Duragloss did the trick and brought out the shine and now it feels smoother.

What a week!

Going to watch my DVD now.

The last days of 2008 were spent very much different from the rest of the year. I had a post-Xmas holiday, which gave me time to finish my Forensic Heroes 2 and meeting up with friends.

But this was history.

We entered 2009 with great uncertainty. There is no need for me to say what has or is going to happen, for we could read news from the newspapers/ websites. Depressing news, that is.

Yesterday was spent at an investment conference, which further sent the mood down. Depressing news. But I myself (read: personal opinion) conclude from what had happened that bull market can end abruptly. I told Gerrie in 2007 that a recession was impending. And it happened.

But on a positive note, bear market is silent. It ends before you know it. Thus, it's important to stay invested.

The entire fin@ncial landscape has changed. The 'impossible' turned possible. We would see streamlining of companies of various industries.

On a personal note, my basic pay increased. But on the whole, I would not be able to make like I did last year. I expect a 35% loss in revenue. I'm learning to cope. But I'm still keeping myself positive.

Humans evolve. No matter how tough the situation is, humans would still look for a way out. That explains why we are not living in caves anymore.

Was hoping to end this post with a positive note. Oh well... what can I say?

Which was too dry for my liking.

The week passed very slowly, but the three of us had been busy. Busy checking d0cumentati0ns and getting ready for the paperw0rk to be audited. It didn't help that Cat happened to be on leave.

After work today, I went down to Bukit Bat0k, with the intention to collect my watch. I had time to myself, so I decided I should do lunch.

Mem0ries of this estate came back and I thought I should go visit my favourite c0ffee sh0p. I remembered I love the chicken laksa from this particular chicken rice store, so I walked towards the auntie and ordered that.

And she replied they do not have chicken laksa.

Imagine the HORROR!!!

No chicken laksa???

Damn.

So I ordered my next favourite dish. Duck rice.

After my lunch, I went to the watch shop and said that I have come to collect my watch. He took it from the shelf and looked at it.

I asked, "Uncle, can repair?"

"Can. But I haven't done it yet. Can come back later?"

I have to come back again?!? What a wasted trip!

So I headed to Aut0bacs, as I wanted to look at light bulbs. I was interested to get PIAA but they cost $150 above!

My recent purchases include a Bell&R0ss and a U-B0at, which fortunately would be saved by an old uncle from a watch repair shop in Bukit Bat0k.

I'm thinking of a (artier, but I'm afraid it would not happen, at least in the next 5years.

Retail shops are hungry for sales. Chri5tmas trees and decors are up. And people are writing their wishlists, this time round, with budget in mind.

Me? I just have one simple wish.

Let everyone around me be happy.

Yes, that simple.

I was thinking hard on how I could achieve that goal.

Then I remember this phrase, "Love yourself before you love others."

BINGO!

In the same perspective, in order to make people happy, I need to make myself happy.

What would make me happy is a LT@-approved Remus/Supersprint/HKS/Fujitsubo exhaust.

Maybe a DVD player, with GPS and reverse camera would be nice. I heard JVC has this model.

Then throw in some more LEDs to make the interior nicer.

Light up the roads with PIAA. Put in Denzo spark plugs. Paste more stickers.

Weird Happenings

First, I received a very weird call. The source wasn't weird. In fact, I spoke to the referrer many times and had introduced myself formally during the recent d&d.

What was weird was the caller. He spoke very slowly with much pauses in between, as if he was deep in thoughts. He couldn't differentiate $10k and $100k in Chinese, even though he was Mandarin-speaking. Over the phone, he said he wanted to invest the latter sum.

He told me to go to his place at a specific time, and so I did. I kept knocking the door but no one answered. His phone was engaged. Then his neighbour looked at me and said that I needed to knock harder and that he is lazy to answer the door.

I knocked for an hour before I decided to give up. I left my name card and went to meet another customer.

After my appt, I called that same guy again. After 3 phone calls, he picked up and said he didn't know it was me and he called the cops. One of the cops answered the phone and the misunderstanding was cleared.

I went back to the place and his neighbour started to shout that he was crazy. Haiz. I am not going to disclose any further, lest I breach any act. I have also decided not to do any trade for him.

What a bummer!

In any case, I was driving along Bkt Panjang Road when the corner of my eye saw someone trying to attract my attention. I wound down the windows and he asked, "Do you want speakers?"

I said no.

"Free one. Don't need to buy."

I wound up and didn't care about him.

Our Road Trip

When we were at Tea Party last weekend, we made a date for our roadtrip to M@laysi@.

On Sunday, we met at a Shell petrol station. That was when Richard's gf realised her passport has expired, thus the couple couldn't go with us.

That didn't stop the rest of the 4 cars.

It wasn't smooth-sailing at the Tu@s checkpoint, but it would also be unfair to say there was a jam. But what was different from it from the W00dl@nd's is the cost, as well as some procedures.

After clearing the cust0ms, we headed for our first rest point for breakfast, as well as for the conversion of currencies.

After a simple breakfast, we headed for our destination at Klu@ng. We didn't go as fast as we did for our Melacca trip. But it took us awhile only before we stopped at one of the plantations there, the place where Richard and his gf had planned to go.

The view was a treat itself, with dragonfruit plants everywhere. Not that I fancy that fruit alot.

After walking up-slope,we reached a small two-storey high hut, where the view gave us an introduction to the plantation.

This view overlooks the road we took to reach this place.

And so... we continued our walk, admiring different types of plants.

By the time we finished our walk, we were dehydrated. We proceeded to the nearest cafe for a quick fix. Fresh juices!

We took another drive to... well, don't ask me. I have no idea where we went. All we did was to follow Gus'.

Anyway.... introducing WK's new ride. A Cerato.

After lunch, we spent some time at Kluang Parade shopping center. Dinner came very quickly after a drive through a very fun terrain with magnificient scenary.

At 7ish, we bade farewell to Kluang and hurried ourselves to the infamous causew@y jam.

We're back from Bangkok. Work has been hectic, working through late nights. Even Saturday wasn't spared. Ended at 3pm.

Updates on Bangkok trip has to be delayed for awhile. Lotsa pictures.

TX and I organised a dinner for our group tonight and I suggested Tea Party, where we could order set meals and be able to play board games there at the same time. Games are free, and the food is value for money. Set meals are about $10. Colleagues and I frequented there, whenever mood is down. Fine, that's an excuse. But we usually overspend there, cus the scones and cakes are really good.

Nights. I have to work tomorrow. There goes my Sunday. =)

I have been feeling very tired for the past 2 weeks, working everyday throughout it. Thank God there isn't any roadsh0ws this weekend.

It had been a slow, relaxing weekend for me. I got some sleep, and my fair share of champagne, beer and ice wine. I had a great dinner with friends, and I got some shopping done. P.S. I love Ted Baker.

It feels great not having to care about how D0w J0nes is going to perform, or having to read news about the protests going on in Bangk0k.

Recently, I met up with a couple of friends at Vivo for dinner. The Q at Sakae Sushi was so long I would never consider waiting. Then I suggested Tajimaya, which saw no Q.

Been awhile and several things happened.

Lost & Found

I seemed to develop a panchant for losing things.

I misplaced the Agnes B necklace Gerrie got for me, and it took me sometime to find it in a bag I only used when I travel.

I thought I had lost my Mont Blanc pen in the club. I was almost tempted to buy another one (Starwalker Doue) to replace it. Heng I didn't. I was in the car when some coins fell off my pocket. While recovering them on the car floor, there it was. My shiny Noheme Doue!

I was doing my I(T for the past 2 weeks and once I misplaced my car keys and had to take cab rides to and fro camp. That mistake cost me about $40! Yes, my car keys were lying comfortably on my bed the whole day. Haiz.

Rising Costs

We all feel the pain. I'm not going to touch on how expensive food is becoming because it's up to you to decide where you are going to eat at. There are still plenty of cheaper alternatives around. I mean, you still can find $2.50 nasi lemak at Raffles Place, can't you?

But what is annoying is the cost of transport. No doubt petr0l prices had adjusted a little, but the cost of e.RP is killing. I was on (TE at 9ish the other night and the blue-white barrier is still on! Till 10!

If I'm living in @MK area, I think I would not return home till 10.

Going to town on Saturday has become a little more costly as well. e.RP used to be confined to 0rchard on Saturdays. Now, it's extended to Fullert0n, Eu T0ng Seng area.

And picking Gerrie up now from work cost me $4.

I feel for cab-takers as well. I had taken 3 rides this month and they were unpleasant experiences.

Never mind the increased price for the pickup, but I was charged an additional $3.50 when I first took one to my camp. The charges were not even reflected on the receipt. I was late and couldn't be bothered to even ask the driver why.

When I sent the car for servicing last week, I took a cab ride to Raffles Place. I went through one e.RP and that cost an additional $1. But the dishonest driver charged me $4 for that. He even had the nerve to say 'nabei' when I asked him why.

The calculations on peak-hour charges is mad as well.

The only time I felt happy paying for cab ride is the one I took from Gerrie's place to the airport.

Phuket

After two weeks in camp, I went to Phuket, the second trip there this year.

I was pleasantly surprised when the hotel staff upgraded me to their new wing. It was definitely nicer and bigger. Bed was newer. But stiff. Pillows... still soft. I prefer mine firmer.

The trip did me good. Lazing around the pool on the first day. Enveloped by the waves on the second. Had some really good food as well. Massage was relaxing.

All has to end. It's time for me to work. Realized I haven't been keeping in touch with some of my cust0mers too well. Some had gone to my colleagues. Haiz.

Need my promotion badly. Need to save money for renovation costs in future. Else, how to afford my Hansgrohe?

With shower heads like these, I would want to bathe 5 times a day.

Aiya can't. Water bills so expensive. Plus, can't return home till 10.

Sunday Brunch

Amici is located at H0lland Village and provides a great ambience. The elaborate decoration puts you at ease. Voted as one of the Top 50 restaurants, it serves Italian fare, as suggested by its name.

We decided to drop by Amici this afternoon and we began our brunch affair by having a bottle of Viento Del Sur.

The waitress served us foccia, one of my favourite bread. It was so soft and tasty that I almost did what 0liver Twist once said: Please, sir, I want some more.

I've ordered a bowl of wild mushroom soup. One of the better ones I had. On par with what Tao's could offer.

Great ambience. Great food. Great wine.

Perfect companion.

In any case, I managed to b00k 0ut to catch M0ney N0 En0ugh gala premiere at GV Viv0. Had to wait for the cast to run around each and every theatre before the show could start.

The show is not too bad. I thought Henry Thia acted really well and that their 'mother' played a very important role. The only thing that I didn't quite like was the apparent sp0nserships. You would know what I mean when you catch this show.

There are many shows I would like to catch, from Red Cliff, The Mummy, X Files and the Dark Knight.

Anyone selling time? I wish to buy it.

Food was not bad, and the entertainment segment was good, compared to the previous one at M0S.

My Weekend

Eight of us congregated at Clementi before we began our journey to Melak@. The jam at W00dlands Checkp0int was quite bad and we were all glad to relief ourselves in time at the checkp0int itself.

After we cleared the other cust0m, got ourselves some drinks, we were on our way to Melak@. We did not have any stopovers and sped all the way to our destination. After an approx 2ish hour drive, we finally got to pump petrol at Melak@ and had our t0ilet break.

Soon, we checked into Emperor hotel, quickly dumped our bags and rushed out to have our lunch. We were so famished and luckily there was this chicken rice restaurant nearby.

What you see is the rice ball. Which is not exactly nice. But the chicken and char siew were good.

We then wandered around, wanting to go to Jonker Street, which is in fact a street market.

Welcome to Jonker Street.

We started our walk at 5pm. We first entered this Jonker Gallery, which retails clothing. I bought a tee for rm35.90 only. But as we walk along, we realized there were several Jonker Gallery butiks, except that they sell a different 'genre'.

Then there are the odd finds along the way.

There are cowboy hats going for rm8, batons, swords, toy guns...

Less than 10minutes later, we chanced upon this store that baked pineapple tarts. It came out fresh from the oven and the samples tasted so wonderful and the 8 of us grabbed as much as we wanted. I got 3 boxes myself.

At 5ish, the streets still looked empty.

Kinda remind me of Bugis Street.

Just that Jonker Street is def. more fun to walk.

And you would never go hungry there.

Popiah seller's roaring business

Sidetrack... Daniel brought along his wishlist. Chicken rice. Done.

Then we had the chendol he had wanted. It was SO GOOD.

By 6, vendors started to set up their stalls. Just like what they do in Phuket. Difference is that the things in Jonker Street is worth seeing and that you have this feeling you won't get carrot-chopped.

Someone told me this was nice.

I had no idea what it was and ordered kiwi.

It was just kiwi, coated with malted suger.

Chey. Nothing special.

Then there was this dim sum store.

I tried some of them and they tasted quite good. Abit hard though, cus it was filled up with so much meat.

Jonker Street comprises of 2 lanes filled with stalls. And it took us more than 2 hours to cover most of it.

Disappointing thing is that it started to drizzle.

It didn't spoil our mood. We proceeded to have some more food in the open. I thought this was quite interesting. rm0.60 per stick only.

Daniel's 3rd wish came true when he ordered bowls of laksa.

I dunno why I thought it was interesting to find one J@panese store out of nowhere.

By 9, we made our way out of there as the drizzle started to get heavier. We went back to our hotel room for a shower. There was abit of dilly-dallying as Daniel and I watched Amazing Race in our room.

At 10ish, we made our way to the hawker centre opposite our hotel. We had earlier pooled rm50 each to fund our group meals. We spent the rest of it on satays, bbq chicken wings, beggar chicken, sting ray, oyster omelette, rojak and several bottles of Heineken.

By then, we were so tired and our feet were aching.

But I wasn't allowed to enter into this foot massage place. No Salesman.

Emperor Hotel is a budget hotel. It cost us 5gd60 for a room. But the room itself was not too shabby. Quite comfy, I would say.

Same like R0yal Paradise in Phuket, Emperor Hotel offers a magnificent view.

Daniel and I woke up at 7ish and wanted to go for a swim. The weather was so cooling and cold air was blowing at our faces. The water was so cold, it took me quite sometime to go in the water. As I put on my google and went into it, I was disgusted at how green the water was. I couldn't even see the pool wall!

I jumped right out of the water and almost instantly regretted at my decision as the wind continued to slap me.

The two of us just stood there, admiring the scenary. I was actually looking at our cars from the bird's eye view.

We met the rest for English breakfast at 9, packed our stuff, and checked out at 1030. We then headed towards their local snack shops, where I loaded some biscuits. There, I saw 2 familiar faces.

We headed to one of the shopping centers. It was huge. But Center World in B@ngk0k is bigger. Nvm that.

The building is so big that underneath that HUGE field is the level 1 of the shopping center. What you see in the picture is another part of the shopping center. Fine, it looked like a m0sque to me until I saw the C@rref0ur signage.

Another thing that I realized is that the B@nk is quite 'aggressive' in Melak@. You can find banners all over the streets.

Then there is this roadshow me and my c0lleagues would die to go for. Just look at the HUGE turnout!

The br@nch is renovated the same way as our transf0rmed branches in 5'p0re.

We had a filling lunch, cleared the bowels and it was time to leave Melak@.

Another few hours of drive. Which I find it enjoyable.

But the rain caused a couple of accidents along the way. One of them saw a couple cars crashed. In fact, it affected 2 lanes.

Some of my own purchases.

We had a couple of stopovers and the last one saw us having dinner at KFC, pumped the petrol and cleared our way through the massive jam at Tu@s checkp0int. Dropped my friends and then headed to the club for a swim. Was 8 then, and thought I should do some exercise to burn off what I had consumed over the past 2 days.

Dunno why I'm having M0nday blues. Something I had not have since this year.

Back to wearing unif0rms.

After work, we adjourned to the NUSS Guild House, housed in Suntec. We were ushered into the dining area, which gave a 'pretentious' atmosphere, hoping to give it a 'fine dining' experience. It was evident in the behaviour of its guests, the utensils and the presentation of the food.

The food was alright to me. The beef salad deserved to be raved about, but not the soup and the main course. Yes, their cheese cakes were lovely.

Some of us toured the place around and we concluded that there were 2 kinds of parties there. The elderly/rich who hovered around the 'fruit machines'. And the young who had just graduated and wanted to make use of the club for networking.

$3000 membership?

Only the elitist would pay.

I'd rather up the price and enjoy myself at a country club.

One of my fav0urite cust0mers called me this morning to check if she could make an appt. with me. Within 5-10 mins she would be able to drop by, she said.

I prepared for her two envelopes of NTU( vouchers that she was entitled after putting a substantial sum in one of the instruments last month. The value of the v0uchers amounted to a graduate's monthly salary.

She wanted to thank me and asked me for lunch. We walked to a Swi55/ Germ@n restaurant, which she said was famous for its p0rk knuckles. Unfortunately (or fortunately for me), the place was closed for lunches.

I remembered a Mediterranean/ Mexican place, however was dismayed at the turnout upon our arrival. Thus, we decided to go French.

The restaurant manager knew me and the service rendered was splendid. The lunch was not casual though. I would rather described it as 'prim and proper'. However, it quickly turned into our favourite subjects: from stocks, vacations to even cars.

I have been thinking of doing DCA/ RSP via margin trading on U5 fin@ncial instituti0ns.

The past week had been blissful for me. No stress, no worries... just the sun and water. Had been spending much time at the club's gym and swimming pool. In fact, on a daily basis.

The staff there now recognise me by name, even knew where I worked and the car I drive. Not that I would like to maximise the usage there, but I have took the place as an outlet to destress. And at the same time, re-evaluate the things in life.

Is everything in life a facade? Are we placing too much importance in wrong values? Maybe, but I don't see anything wrong at the same time. Chasing after dreams motivates us. In fact, that is what makes the world goes round, isn't it?

In office, we dread the 'return' of our boss, who has 'kindly' taken 2 weeks of leave (fine, he didn't do it for us). We have been discussing among ouselves the next steps we could take. No doubt we want to progress on, but the offer for a st0ck br0ker seems attractive as well. At least for the time being.

At the end of the day, I would still want to pursue my dreams.

Payday comes tomorrow! Quarterly b0nus comes at the end of the month!

2 of my customers celebrate their birthday today. And they happened to come into the br@nch. And funny thing is they didn't come to do any b@nking transaction.

One of them brought a watch magazine and insisted IWC and Zenith are better buys than Cartier. I flipped through and instantly knew I couldn't afford any of these.

My coming paycheck can be arguably equivalent to 4-7 mths of what people of my age would earn.

But I know of someone who would be getting a sum (this MONTH) that is equivalent to 3-5 YEARS of what others may be earning.

A very very pale comparison.

I've decided what I would do with my paycheck.

1. Book myself tickets to Phuket and Bangkok
2. Invest - buy into 2 funds and 1 counter
3. And brace myself to what may come in the next 2 months.

One good thing about my br@nch is the different type of crowd it attracts. Some of my customers love watches. One of them collects and admires them at home, even though she couldn't wear them due to sensitive skin. Her small collection amounts to $200k-ish.

Another avid collector would share with me the type of watches I should go for. He walked in this morning and I greeted him, "Hi! I was thinking of calling you yesterday. I wanted to know if you could intro me someone who sells Cartier."

He agreed Cartiers are beautiful. Fashion watches, he said. I disagreed. The Tank series have been around for so long.

He told me Cartiers look nice on 20-30years old. But in my line, as I progress on, I would wear something like IWC instead. According to him.

Then I asked myself. Should I get something that my current/ potential customers would appreciate?

Or should I just get something that I like?

What if a Cartier is like a G-Shock to them?!?

In any case, at most I could only fork out enough cash to buy an entry-level IWC.

Not that Cartier is any cheaper.

Isn't Cartier nice?!?

Anyway, I had my leather seats waxed at Leather Etc. after work.

Then I fixed my v-lip and gear knob at Fabulous X.

While M@rk set his eyes on a 1-ish carat diamond for his girlfriend, I saw a Miu Miu.

It's funny that the both of us wouldn't even blink or hestitate on the price tags, but we can't bear to spend that same amount of money on ourselves.

While an average Miu Miu would cost $1700, I actually have to ponder over a Mont Blanc bag over 10 months. And to date, I had not splurge on that $1400 briefcase.

Even when I like a $500 Gucci belt, I had to get M@rk to check with his friend if I could get any discount.

Btw, apparently Prada doesn't like the word 'Sale'. They called it 'Markdown'.

Whilst I was walking at Paragon this evening, I fell in love with a watch.

A Bell & Ross. But a pity there wasn't any price tag on it.

I'm guessing it shouldn't cost more than a Cartier.

My budget is $5k. Let's see if one of my customers can get me a discount. I mean, a markdown.

Edit: Found out Bell & R0ss is way expensive. Am looking at Cartier now.

Went for a swim at Orchid Country Club.

Went to boss' place.

Shop at Subaru Toa Payoh. Loaded with front grille and lowering springs. Would install them nxt Saturday.

Had dinner at Gerrie's place.

Need to have sleep.

I have survived the past 6 months. I had my Phuket and Bangkok trip and my occassional weekend break. The rest of my time was spent working.

I'm thinking of planning 3 more trips this year.

Phuket in Aug.

Bangkok in Oct.

And Bali in Dec.

Actually, I shouldn't complain. I had my first off day of the year today.

It was spent at Pearly's condo.

And the rest of the afternoon at Vivo.

It felt good not having to rush.

Another random thought: caught Wanted today. Yeah, lots of action but too exaggerated.

As always, Angelina is hot.

And seeing her makes me want to ink myself.

Anyway... there is this new c0ffee sh0p set up nearby my br@nch. It was much welcomed, cus of Ast0ns. One of its staff, an elderly man, was recently made a role model for us all. His commitment to service quality is unbelieveable.

Last night, Mark and I made small talk with one of the shareholders of the coffee shop - a 25yr old guy. He shared his life story and it inspired us to strive for better things in life.

I don't even earn wad this Sec 3 'graduate' is having.

M@rk has been with us for less than a month.

But he's already learning the ropes well.

On how to speak to cust0mers, filling up f0rms, the different styles of presentations on different types of customers.

And he's also influenced that passive income is one of the best way to fill your wallet. I taught him how to plan for his retirement by investing regularly. Next step would be to set up a margin tr@ding a/c. We have been discussing how we could go about acquiring properties.

One of the job duties we have is to make calls to build up our customer base. But we have a rule - to stop at 9pm.

While I was doing some shopping this evening, 2 smses came at 930pm. A reminder by 177indef on my c@ll-up at the end of Jul.

It fucking spoilt my whole evening.

Friday evening.

Had whiskey at Cosy before suppering at 0rchid C0untry Club. We bought Ch0ng Pang nasi lemak to our rooms, watched abit of TV, drank some Baileys before we hit the sack.

Within a few hours later, I was back to work. Once the br@nch closed, I went to 0rchard to tail0r my uniform. I went back to Orchid with M0S Burger. I rested for awhile before the rest decided to go for a little swim.

The sun was good. I watched planes flew by and instead of thinking "Ah... this is life.", I immediately tot of going back camp in 5 weeks' time. Fuck.

After our bath, we had McDonald's, played a round of MJ and had our Baileys. When Sharon & her family arrived, I was too shagged and went back to sleep.

I woke up to a Sunday morning with more Baileys and ice wine.

I'm now planning to go to a beach trip alone in Aug. Right after the annoying re5ervist c@ll-up.

An necessary evil.

Before my appt. at N0rthP0int, I had my Ch0ng Pang nasi lemak. The same st0re I visited during the N5 days. But frankly, it brings back b0ring mem0ries. And it pains both my heart AND wallet when I have to go back in Jul/Aug for 2 weeks.

After the appt, I was contemplating on visiting our 'neighbour'. The thought of being stuck in the horrible jam put me off. I decided to go to the SPC station nearest my place.

They had this promo "Spend $50 and above and get a car wash at $3 only". So I went ahead to pump $60.

Fuck. It was less than half filled.

I went for the car wash. 2 men helped to clean, while I was forced to sit in the car to wait. At the place where I had my regular wash, I would simply throw the key to the guy and go off to fetch my dinner.

After a super brief wash, a woman came over to wipe it dry. It wasn't dried. Moist would be the correct/appropriate word.

No vaccum.

No interior cleaning.

No tire shining.

No smile from that woman. Not even the slightest hint of friendliness.

That reminds me why everyone prefers our 'neighbour'.
