Rock My Sunday

Short Talk:

An annoymous sent me a sms:

It's so late you may have slept already. It'll be great if you see this sms next morning. And if you have woken up from your sleep just to read this sms. All I wanna say is: happy monday blues!

wtf!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The weather today was really nice. Was raining heavily this morning and my bed was so inviting, but I decided against it and started to compile the Starbucks assignment. Spent the entire morning editing my members' work.

At 12:30, I took a slow drive in the rain towards Suntec. Did a little window-shopping alone. Had wanted to get another Lacoste, but decided to wait till the next weekend. Gerrie's U0B card would come in handy, with additional 10% reduction.

I suggest those of you who are looking for pants may want to take a look at the range at Crocodile. This local brand has been trying to revive its image but I'm betting it would take a long while before people start to notice it again. Prices are reasonable though, from $49 to $89.

When I reached my destination, the salesgirl wasted no time in serving me tea. The china was nice and the tea wasn't too hot. Perfect. She was patient and sensitive to my every needs. Spent about an hour in the shop. Paid and left my purchases there. And then walked out as a Lee Hwa Privilege Cardmember.

Sidetrack a little: was joking with Gerrie last night if she ever needed a drink but couldn't find any shop, head to any jewellery shop and pretend to be interested. A drink may just come along. =)

Met Geraldine. Took a little walk before entering Lee Hwa, on the pretext of finding a gift for her mom's birthday. Unexpectedly, the salesgirl played along with me. Too bad Geraldine caught my wink.

"You've been here?"

"Nope. She smiled at me, so I smiled back lor."

The salesgirl was attentive towards Gerrie. I asked the salesgirl to let Gerrie try the ring sizes. Gerrie obliged, but felt embarrassed 'cus we weren't getting anything. She went to take a look at its brochures, while I whispered to the salesgirl.

We walked out of Lee Hwa with a bag in my hand. She was surprised when I gave her a pair of diamond earrings. I put 'em on her immediately. Her smile was worth it. The three-prong solitaire ring would only be ready for collection next week.

Over lunch at Carls Jr (my virgin visit. Yes, I'm slow), she told me I can't really keep surprises. The wink, the trying of ring sizes without even looking at rings and she overheard the conversation between me and the salesgirl about her ring size.

Either she's too observant or I'm plain dumb. The other time she figured out I have gotten her the Swarovski necklace, but that incident was partly due to Derrick's inability to answer her question. Whatever it is, I'm glad she's happy.

We skipped the movie and headed back home. She slept while I continued the project. It got me frustrated. Dunno if it's because my members' English cmi, or Starbucks' attempt to homogenize the entire coffee industry. Perhaps both.

Excerpt:
Starbucks' 'store cannibalization' strategy had led to sluggish sales growth rate. It attempted to eliminate competition through buy-outs, "cluster bombing" tactics, and market cannibalization.

Sidetrack a little... Waikit asked me how to propose to a girl. So happy for him. He managed to find a girlfriend when he started work, and after several years later, he decided it's time to tie the knot.

I have lots of creative ideas. In fact, I love sharing them with others. Haha, just recently gave tips to Thomas on making a scrap book. It's not just a decorative book with pictures. That book itself must have a theme. Select the photos, choose a theme and then decorate it. Choosing the book itself takes time.

Anyway, I shared with Waikit one idea. Was telling Geraldine about it just now. She shared with me her cousin's idea, which I thought it was cost-effective, but was such a "Aww... SO SWEET" gesture.

Whatever it is, my idea is the perfect one. Had it written down in detail already. And am not sharing it with anyone.

Night.
