Friday

Mr. Bean. Predictable. But still funny.

Watched it at Cathay. Excellent seats, and we love the discounts.

I covered from Wisma to PS, looking for a particular shoe design from Charles & Keith for Gerrie during my lunch hour on Thursday but to no avail. I finally found it at Amara Hotel.

I went back to the hotel today and guess what, C&K is offering 15% discount. Sianz.

Had my haircut 2 weeks ago and today, I felt bored and had it again.

MM powerpoint is more or less done. =)

Had supper with Gerrie just now.

The shop had a rather interesting concept. But it's rather warm. The food is a little pricey. And look, they have the TV I had wanted to get the other day!

Still thinking if I should get it.

Just random thoughts.

Happy Saturday.

So Far..

I finally submitted my MM report. Had stuggled till Monday 4am before I gave up and went to sleep. Ran on 2hours of sleep and went to work & school. End up it's not submission date. Not funny lor.

But at least I have that report out of my head. Would just need to cough up with a ppt. presentation.

Had been eating alot these days. Or rather months. Just this morning, Samantha bought me a cup of tea from Wang Jiao, and I have been snacking on Asri's Famous Amos perpetually.

After reading Kenny Sia and Mail Order Bride's, I think it's time to put all these to a stop.

Would start eating sensibly tomorrow onwards.

Weekend. What weekend?

The above clip sums up the entire show. If you had bother to watch it, you will realise it's not the trailer. This clip consolidates the fighting scenes. It's about bodies, tough men's talk, blood and gore, limps and heads flying everywhere.

It's about men who are instinct killers, the survivors of the trial in the harsh enviornment of the wild. It's about men who other men feared and respected.

At least that is what we guys think.

Girls see the 8pecs. Unbelievable. The entire show is made up of men who showed no ounce of fats. Men who are scantily dressed in robes.

But the show didn't do justice to R0drig0 Sant0r0, who acted as the Persian king, who thought he was god. In fact, he looked so gay. Sitting on his throne the whole day, waiting for people to kneel in front of him to worship him, totally oblivious to the naked girls around him. Wtf.

But many girls do not know that is the same guy who was in L0ve Actually.

The same guy in L0st Season.

Since 300 is all about bodies, putting up these photos won't really affect anything.

If your girlfriend decides to leave you after this show, console yourself. You have at least 3 scenes to see women's naked b0dies.

Yes, the effects are great, the killings are awesome, the unity among these men is strong but I can't see how is it connected to defending their nation. The entire movie focuses more on fighting for gl0ry for themselves! I may be wrong, but it seems the Persians are defending themselves.

Not helping the latter. In fact, they bribe and have trickeries up their sleeves.

'nuff about the show.

The turnout at Club21 sale was incredible. Everyone walked out with BAGS full of clothes. How not to when things are as cheap as $30. A $200+ cK dress going only at S$60.

But then again... me and Gerrie walked out empty-handed. It was disappointing. There were limited range for men's clothes and Gerrie couldn't find anything nice of her size. In fact, I was surprised that she was willing to go. She's always dreading to see clothes in piles and find them a turn-off. Whenever there is sale, she goes to the 'New Arrival' section. How perculiar. That's my girl. =)

Drinks were at Acid Bar. We snuggled at a corner, listened to its resident singer's rendition of Norah Jones, Oasis and whatsnot. The rain came unexpectedly and we waited for it drizzled a little, finished the Heinken and walked to the carpark.

Sunday was wasted. Gerrie had came over and spent her time watching Harry Potter 1 & 3, while I tried doing my project in vain.

Another workday tomorrow. Wth.

Below are 2 application forms. One for the girls, and the other for the guys. Enlarge 'em and read it.

Night ladies. Hope this post made you happy.

Sorry fellas.

Watch

About a month back, I found one of my watches lying on the kitchen floor. I picked it up and realized the glass were terribly scratched. I had to go to the service center to replace the glass, which took a week. They did water-testing and with $32, it's looking new again.

Seiko Chornograph 200m vs Omega Speedmaster Chorograph Automatic

I like Asri's Omega. Looking really nice.

The B@nk is offering 50% off watches at H0ur Gl@ss. But no bonus, how to buy?

I salute the B@nk's Seni0r Mgmt and the Mgmt Ass0ciates for taking up the challenge of walking 101km in the name of charity. This includes the CE0, the Heads, VPs... The walk started at 7am yesterday morning and there were live updates of the event throughout the day.

I haven't walk such a distance before. Let's not mention those days when we were compelled to walk over 32km, but the last time I walked was from Jurong East MRT station to my place when someone decided to jump off the tracks at Chinese Garden.

In true spirit, I decided to test myself today to see how far I can cover.

I stood up from the chair I am sitting on now, hydrated myself, stretched a little and began my walk.

I stopped at my bed and fell asleep.

More Good Things

The Op. Parking at Orchard on a weekday is cheaper than parking at Raffles Place. $2/h is reasonable. Worked for 2.5h before rushing back home to bring dad to the hospital. The op started at 2 and we went to the cafe to wait. Gerrie had taken half day leave to accomapany me. It was interesting to see how mom suddenly brightened up when she saw Gerrie and started to yak with her.

The op was successful, though Dad had to return to the hopsital today for check-up. He is still an one-eye Jack but is on his way to recovery. Thank God for His manifold blessings.

It was nice to have dinner that night as a family, with Gerrie. Later, we had tea at Brew Essentials.

Return to work. Had to clear my emails before 9. The magical hour which we start picking up calls. But I wasn't able to help much today. I'm attached to Aut0l0an for training and had to settle thi particular case which almost took 4 hours of Liz and my time.

Roz has been the sweetest in the office. Knowing Asri and I do not enjoy the VBs yet, she bought us drinks. Haven't touched Starbucks like for the longest time.

Not to be outdone, Jas suggested she buy us guys drinks at Alley Bar tomorrow. A perfect idea which I find no excuse to reject.

Gerrie had taken half day again today and went for her facial. She picked me up from the office and we settled ourselves at Spageddies for dinner.

The servings were huge and I love its Primo Combo. The soft shell crabs were amazing.

We did a little shopping and I think make-up can really get expensive.

From my experience of browsing these stuff with Gerrie, I think MAC is out to get young girls; Dior is worth the price; Bobby Brown the matt-est and the most expensive and Chanel is really nice but one of the most expensive.

Gerrie uses only MAC and I found it surprising she got Chanel's instead today.

School. Submission date for MM is drawing near. Have yet to finalize on it. But I wrote a mail to the lecturer to drop one of the team-mates. And this is my 2nd time doing it.

On 03MAR07, David has approached Tan Yong Jie but the latter made up excuses not to meet up because he needed his sleep, which in my humble opinion, is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable...

I apoglogize on the behalf of my team that we would have to bring up this trival matter to you, which I myself find embrrassing to write. However, we do not see the committment, teamwork, urgency nor any form of contribution by Tan Yong Jie...

As much as we would like to help him, we are not inclined to accept a freeloader in our team.

Oh well. I have another 3 more months of eating this dish before I graduate.

Meeting the wealth manager tomorrow.

Rice posted this kick-ass video.

Sunday

Sunday was spent having haircuts and luncheon at Kenny Rogers.

Settled for 'Devil Wears Prada' dvd in the evening. A wicked picture! I dig the clothes the girls wear, especially Andrea's. The Chanel boots, the Valentino dresses... But no Prada (?!?)

Watch the bloopers.

Saturday

Again, I woke up with a headache. Slept at 3, trying to install the games into the stick. With only 5 hours of sleep, I had to pull myself outta bed to work. I was late for the aut0l0an training. -.-

Learnt something new on the calculation. Even if your dealer tells you the interest rate you're paying is fixed at xx%, always ask for the effective rate. You'll be shocked at the interst rate you're paying. In addition, most buyers miscalculate when redeeming their l0ans. The reason... they are unaware of this Rule 78.

Like that how to get the Brera Gerrie and I saw today? It's super sleek and the interior is breath-taking. Totally a playboy car. Beats the over-rated beemer anytime.

Anyhow, the training ended a wee too early, so I went back to office to clear some work, before heading to the branch to meet my wealth manager. Gerrie sat in halfway during our conversation, so in order not to delay our Saturday, I had it arranged to submit the docts next week.

Gerrie and I wanted to go for high-tea but it could get really expensive so we settled for Andersons ice-cream, some pretzels and headed towards Orchard.

The heat was overbearing and we took shelter at Parag0n. We went straight to Canele for cakes. We had our usual, but this time with strawberry shortcake as well. Somehow rather, we both prefer the one at R0berts0n Walk.

Thereafter, we headed to Raoul.

Where she got me a surprise.

The watch that I had wanted!

Ah... but that's not all. Whilst browsing through the boutique, she got me yet another surprise.

A pair of cufflinks.

Gosh, I love the presents so much! *hugs*

We stopped by Marina Mandarin to confirm the booking of the room and the tickets to Phantom. And yes, we are set to go!

We even made plans to come to this bar for drinks that night.

It's going to be awesome.

Dinner was with Gerrie's parents. It turnd out to be amazing. I had forgotten to bring out my phone and my parents couldn't get me. Ended up not having dinner with them.

Alright. End of updates. PSP time.

Mixed Feelings

There you go. My new toy.

(From left to right) The soft cover with lanyard, 4GB stick, the silver console, transparent hard cover and USB cable and a pair of ear phones.

Unable to show the last item I have.

Gerrie was really sweet when she persisted to pay for the console. But I don't want to trouble her, as she has her own credit card bills to settle, as well as to save up for our coming trip. Anyway, congrats to her for getting her bonus this year. She's of a different scheme, unlike most of us, where even perms have to 'fight' for bonuses.

Talking about ka-chings, I'm really disappointed.

Last year, I missed out $9000 payout.

This year, they said since I am contracted on a different scheme, I would miss out the variable bonus. Which amounts to $6000. I thought I could use that sum to pay for the PSP, next school term, road tax and insurance. Oh well.

Most of us, who are on this scheme, rallied together to console ourselves. Jon was upset he did not take my advice the other time to join one of the local banks. But no matter what we say or do, the HR stood by its verdict. I would just have to wait till the contract is up before I would know the entire lump sum of ka-chings I will be getting.

On the other hand, I'm really proud the B@nk did well. The payouts were fantastic.

My Friday evening is spoilt due to my miscalculation and one of my bosses decided to absorb the charges. I couldn't thank her enough.

Tomorrow's a work day for me. Having training on Autoloan. Good also lah. After handling credit card and loan enquiries, I am more aware of how loans can kill. If time permits, I may meet a wealth manager to talk about some investments.

At least I get to spend more time with Gerrie over the weekends. Probably have to complete my report as well.

Dad's operation is drawing near. God bless.

New Toy

My iPod died on me. It said its last breath on Monday, showing a sad face.

Bloody gloomy, isn't he?

Oh dear, I think I am in trouble. While searching for that picture in Apple website, I realised there are methods to rectify the problem. That means my iPod may not be damaged lah!

Wah liaoz!

Minutes ago, I have asked Michelle to buy me a silver toy.

I can see cyj rolling his eyes. I know it's old school, but I think the functions are great. And it comes wih 4gb stick and it can do something that it's unbloggable.

Talking about cyj, he posted a really cool mtv.

Enjoy this.

Oh, the next clip is damn funny can.

The Pursuit of Happyness

It was an inspiring story. The picture may be slow, but then again, we don't expect any actions, fist-fighting or ass-kicking moves when the story is about how a man struggled during his poverty days. Instead of despising himself for his inability to keep his woman and making his son go hungry, he went on strong. At one point in the picture,he said to the wifey, "You're weak."

One of the inspiring statement he said to the son, "Don't ever let somebody tell you you can't do something. Not even me. You have a dream, you have to protect it. People can't do something themselves, they want to tell you you can't do it. YOu want something, go get it. Period."

Another scene saw him asking the car owner, "I have 2 questions for you. What do you do and how do you do it? That shed some light to how positive he was.

It was really heartwrenching to see him struggle. The family had difficulties when they had to get their son a basketball. He was chased out of his rented apartment. His friend shunned him and refused to pay him back his $14. He had to betray his conscious and cheated the cab driver by running off.

His humour saved him during the first round of interview. His persistence and positive attitude saw him through. A motivator for all salespeople.

This is one good movie.

Gerrie and I had drinks tonight at the Beavers. We love our Hoegarden. =)

Ta Da!

The first day of the Reorg saw me packing my stuff, displaying photos, having my new PC set up and installed. The first 5 hours were crazy.

It was only after lunch things started to settle down. Boss was nice to buy all of us donuts from the Donut Factory. Definitely one of the best I ever had. But I would pick St. Leavens anytime. Q-ing up for 1-2hours at Donut Factory is just madness.

Night.

Sat Me Down

Had prata last night with Gerrie at Katong and thus couldn't sleep. Sat myself down to do a little project work and slept about 2am. The drilling and the sun made the sleeping almost impossible and I woke up at 10 to continue with the project.

Gerrie popped by during lunch time and we continued with our 'About a Boy' and 'Mr & Mrs Smith'. Saturday was spent lazing around, with me doing my project and Gerrie taking her nap. It was about 8pm that we decided to leave the house for dinner.

We had a simple one at Crystal Jade but spent almost an hour there. During dinner time, we texted her sis who was at the IT Fair. A pity she didn't return our text. I had wanted to check out the prices for the iPod and the PSP, which I had contemplated on buying since ancient days.

I wouldn't have the time to go down to the IT Fair, or rather I don't want to squeese with the entire nation tomorrow. But I may have to pop by there eventually to make payment for the Phantom package at Marina Mandarin. I hope they accept it via email though.

Tonight ended really early. Had wanted to go with Gerrie to Z0uk Financial Night. Felt really sorry. If only I no longer have to study. Nvm, 3 more months to go only.

I will also be planning with her to go on a trip, sometime during May. Together with the Phantom package, I think this would be the best way to celebrate our first year anniversary.

There goes my Mont Blanc. At $700ish, it's way off my budget. One has to pay $200 more for that Mont Blanc diamond. But it's so much nicer than my present one. I can be so unsatisfied.

Anyhow, Gerrie is completely happy with her Andersons. She refused to let me have it initially!

Friday Night

What has this...

got to do with this?

The first mail I read this morning in the office was this package. It consists of a night's stay in a Deluxe room at Marina Mandarin, a pair of Category A tickets to The Phantom of the Opera, 20% food & beverage discount, 1 complimentary parking, late check out till 3pm. All these for only $347, after taxes.

I checked Marina Mandarin's site and found that one night stay is about that price already, which means I get to convince myself I'm getting the tickets for free! Lolx, Cat A somemore. Feels good to be a premier customer.

So exciting!

Work's fine, with us packing up our stuff at the end of the day, ready for the big transition on Monday. And I would be getting my new PC!

Lunch was at Pasta Mania, def. one of our last lunch.

Gerrie 'picked' me up from work today and we headed to Wisma to collect her ring. Going to have our dinner later.
