My Week So Far

Been a very tiring day. Woke up on Monday, thinking it's Saturday. And now, it's Thursday morning! Pretty neat.

Had been terribly busy, handling an average of 20 cases per day. I had no time to refill my water, and kept on delaying toilet visits. Mails kept pouring in and sometimes I just want to scream, "I can't take it anymore!"

There is a downfall working with women. Their whining. Especially when you're busy.

The good side is that you're constantly fed. That explains my weight.

This afternoon, I took a lunch break at 2:10pm. Travelled to Taka and I shopped at Zara. Finally got a white shirt. Pity the purple shirt and the polka-dot black shirt are not available. I was so prepared to just spend $400 on 'em. I went to Hugo Boss but didn't quite like their tie range. And Raoul Paragon didn't have much choices compared to Raffles'.

Lunch was good though. I bought back to office Delifrance, something which I didn't have for years. I was really surprised it came in a set.

Worked till 6:30, after which I went for course with the girls. And a dinner with Gerrie and a wine session with KB at Wine Boz closed my day. Nice.

Would be going for a haircut at Reds during lunch tomorrow. Goody! Hopefully, they take their time to cut. I am already looking forward to sleep at their couch while they massage my head.

Aritey. Good night.

Zoe Tay's Suggestive.

My secret to beautiful skin? I swallow.

I told you liao! Protein is good for skin. Swallow more!

Blackathy, 12:25 AM

"Have you Linda liao?"

"I've done Linda liao".

Either way, they are both suggestive.

Furious Sunday

Upon realization of her confusion with Far East Square/ Plaza/ Shopping Centre, Gerrie and her sister and me finally made it to Canele. We were fortunate we reached early, else we prolly have to stand and eat.

Whilst waiting for someone to show us to the table, I was browsing through their Valentine's Day catalog. One slice of cake can go up to $18. With that money, you prolly can get a mid-size cake!

Thomas called me the other day for directions. But I thought it's a big mistake to buy a 'LV lock and key' cake. Especially on a 21st birthday. 'Cus I wouldn't want to remember my 21st birthday having that design. I mean, how special can you feel having a 3D LV? It's kinda superficial.

If I am a girl, I would want a two-tiered cake, with at least 70% dark chocolate. That would surely make any girl melt and feel so damn princessy on her birthday. Oh well, individual preferences.

This time round, Canele hangs proudly its achievements. Aren't those pink boxes pretty? I totally can imagine my two-tiered cake now. But wtf. Which guy would ever receive a pretty cake? Get me a LV bag anytime.

I skipped breakfast and lunch to have cakes and was definitely worth it. The next time I'm there again, I would want to try the chocoliest of all chocolate cakes. And their earl grey are tops.

3 slices of cakes + 2 pots of tea = $30

Arite. Enuff of cakes. On a happier note, RL, Polo Jeans, Tommy H., C. Benetton are having sale. Fine. I didn't get anything for myself, though I got mom one.

The three of us headed to ECP where the girls went to tapao satay and chicken wings. And we literally sped home for dinner. The smell of the satay was overpowering and I was famished. (But the smell lingered while I drove back home later on. Sianz.)

To complete dinner, Shanti made soup, fried some vegetables, fish and chicken wings and everyone got a bowl of soup. Lovely.

Let's talk about cars now.

After washing the car at Gerrie's carpark, I was heading home and thought I should give her a call. I parked at the roadside and wanted to see if she and KB wants to go for some wine. Half-way talking to her, a white Sonata hit the front bumper. Fucking spoilt my day.

That guy paid $100 and everything was settled. I went to the Shell nearby my place, pumped the tires, filled up the tank and did a little touch up to the scratch. I already have the intention to have Blackathy's front and rear bumper sprayed and that $100 would help cover a little. But still... the feeling of being hit sucks.

See how low Blackathy goes.

Last night, I test drove Guoliang's Altis. It surprises me! The pick-up was really quick and the ride's smooth and quiet. Well, too bad I'm not a full-time staff. Else I could get preferential rate and pay for an Altis $388 a month.

The petrol bill is killing me already. Oh well, next time then.

Future

It's really quite unfair that I have school on a Saturday where Gerrie has her off day on. That took half a day away, leaving us some pathetic hours left. In fact, I think this is the 2nd time she has her Saturday off.

A little shopping was done, though I didn't get anything. Am still thinkin' what to wear on this coming Friday. But that's a seperate issue altogether.

A short discussion of what we hope the future would be like. Issue lies in I may not complete my studies by the time my contract ends, and looking for a job would be quite tricky.

3 cars and 5 people today. Cars, cars and cars again. But I did created one topic.

How lizards make love ah?

KNS. Anyhow look at my privates! Later comprain you to the Lizard Modesty World Federation.

We tried acting not so superficial and started talking about our current jobs. Let's try to be creative and name this person A. I was quite taken aback to know she's receving $3.5k.

KNS. Study so much for what.

*Envy*

Talking about being envy and all, I realise no one out there envy me leh. I posted a meme, orginated from M.O.B. asking anyone to state what they envy me about. And NO ONE DID LA!

Take Car

The other day the ladies were discussing where to head for lunch. I was busy packing my bag. Blame me but I was listening to what they were saying.

"Let's go Tekka."

*Ladies' gossips*

Me: Wah, you all take car go where?

Jasmine: ?!?

Me: Someone's driving uh? VP driving you all there?

Jasmine: It's T.E.K.K.A. Not T.A.K.E.C.A.R.

And from that day on, people insisted I'm non-Sing. And especially after I confessed I don't know where Katong was.

So there were plans to bring me to Tekka. Apparently, I'm the only one who doesn't know where this imposter-Taka-sounding place is.

The gang of ladies and I ahead to Little India but went on seperate ways. Jasmine, Gwen and me walked to Tekka. And when I saw this familiar building, I went, "Chey. This is Tekka ah."

"I drove past here before."

Jasmine: Driving past and being here is totally different.

Lunch was chicken briyani. Not bad at all. =)

>GG5 and m)phosis is having sale.

Talking about fashion... have you read Urban today?

There was this part whereby it introduced this guy as a fashionista, while the girlfriend as a plain ol' Jane. I read the story with interest because I like shopping too. But when I saw the photo, I almost died laughing. Even as I am typing, my toes are giggling. KNS.

Saw a Naviglio and got pretty excited about it. Wanted to get it but thought I could use the money in many other ways. Besides, there are other things on hand.

1. School fees
2. Spray Blackathy
3. iPod/ nano/ radio receiver
4. 17" rims
5. Bodykits
6. Drop-in filter
7. Holiday in October

So I decided to push it till my birthday. Then again, I thought it would be more meaningful if I reward myself after getting the degree. Or when I get my first pay check in my next job.

Perhaps by then, I no longer need it. Heh.

Happy Moments

This morning, I was woken up by a text from causticjuice. Felt so guilty for missing all his performances. Anyway, take care and have lots of fun in the States, my friend. Bring back all the Playboys, will ya? Aye!

It has been a terribly day at work. Was rushing like mad solving all the cases and almost didn't quite make it to go home on the dot. And I didn't manage to buy anything for myself today! I planned to go on a shopping spree but Raoul had nothing for me. And I kinda like this purple shirt from Zara but no size! WTF! And I got 'The Look' when I told Gerrie that Gwen invited me to go Jakarta with her and her dad. It's not my fault mah. Plus, dinner was so quiet. Later.

But there are simple joys in life that make me happy.

I was a little early this morning and I took my time to walk from carpark to Tanjong Pagar. And I even had the luxury to stop at one of the best confectionary shop there to get my breakfast.

What bliss! I so wanted to get a packet of milk from PS (I'm a growing boy, mind you) but haven't much time left.

But guess what I found on my table?

A packet of chocolate biscuit from Jasmine. How lovely!

And when I complained I was sleepy, I got a can of coffee from Gwen. How sweet. Ooh, usually I don't take Mars. But I stole it from the tutor last night. Tasted so nice.

Besides that, I'm always looking towards lunch. And I had new lunch buddies. Gwen, Elaine and JS headed to Thai Express.

The food was nice, but the company was better. The new lunch buddies are both manager and officer and were able to give advices on the career development.

But of course, one of the best moment of today was to leave the office on time. It was nice to see Shirly and that 15 minutes of catching up was so needed.

I had a few giggles to myself while waiting for Gerrie.

This er... person (a diplomatic word) looks like my previous boss.

And the guy in the suit reminds me of a penguin. So funny. He had this pink shirt, and an organge tie!

So cartoon.

Talking about cartoons, this lady damn cute can. Think she looks better than those old ah pek security guards. Heh.

The CBD area is boring. Cartoons like this should really appear now and then to make life more intersting!

Ooh, it feels great to have money in the bank again!

And finally... meeeting Gerrie.

Her acute pain in the tummy didn't quite make the dinner pleasant though. And I didn't quite like my noodles. Don't care! The next time we go Crystal Jade again, I'm so going to have my suan la mian!

And of course, her smile at Tiffany summed up my day.

Splurged I did. Not on myself though. *sob*

Yuppies Part 2

Zara pants. Checked.

Pedro. Checked.

Raoul shirt and cufflinks. Checked.
Seiko. Checked.
Dunhill. Checked.

Gucci. Checked.

Louis Vuitton. Checked.

Mont Blanc. Checked.

Definitely not a yuppie yet. No Bayshore. No Alfa Romeo. No Omega.

The only consolidation today was lunch with Jasmine. Pity Gwen couldn't come. And sorry to Jonathan for no-show.

And look what we found in Carrefour! Parfum Chocolat.

Right. Anyone wants to buy a bottle of perfume that smell like chocolate?

Dun see the box cute cute k. The biscuits are wicked! Yummy!

Presentation went aritey. Gracias to all my team mates who played their part. And special thanks to Sop for AEC. Owe you one!

My dinner was pathetic. At 12am.

Life of a yuppie wannabe who is struggling with work and studies. How exciting. Sigh.

Yuppies

Yuppies, short for 'Young Urban Professionals' are growing in numbers and are affluent. This article examines the characteristics of Asian yuppies and how marketers can segment the market.

In Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea and other rapidly-developing Asian countries, marketers have discovered a growing class of young professionals and entrepreneurs. In Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei and Seoul, there are over a million people in their 20s or 30s who hold professional, managerial or technical jobs. Besides that, there are many self-employed entrepreneurs who fall into the same demographic group.

With the belief that a financially stable and prestigious career as their main objectives in life instilled in them, Asian yuppies work hard and enjoy high educational achievement. A substantial number of yuppies receive tertiary education overseas and are exposed to Western influences. Though not considered wealthy by Western standards, Asian yuppies' incomes are pricey as compared with those of other Asians and have been rising 15% to 20% annually. In Singapore, a 22-year-old fresh graduate with first class honors might earn approximately USD28, 000 a year; a 32-year-old lawyer in Seoul, approximately $31,000 a year; a Hong Kong sales executive, approximately $32,000. There are also a substantial number of yuppies who do not mind relocating.

Asian yuppies enjoy urban lives. Most of the yuppies live with their parents, an arrangement that boosts discretionary income. Asian yuppies crave big-name brands and in a recent survey by the Straits Times, Ralph Lauren is Singapore's most bought brand; Louis Vuitton remains Singapore's desired brand. Malaysia's national newspaper, The Star, reported that Malaysian women are now better educated, receive higher paycheck and place higher priority in their career. This resulted in many of them procrastinating about marriage and having fewer children.

Asian yuppies desire expensive automobiles and apartments, have expensive haircuts at salons, work out at exclusive gyms, have vacations at exotic places, hang out at Starbucks and have exclusive membership at clubs.Compounding these sins, at least in the eyes of the older generation, is the proclivity of many yuppies to pay for their desires with credit cards, instead of cash.

Being modern and traditional, Western and Asian, marketers are trying to figure out what makes these consumers tick. Local brands, such as CYC and Crocodile, know that they have to reflect a more up-market image in order to appeal to Asian yuppies. However, no matter how finely tuned the marketing pitch is, some products and services are not likely to appeal to Asian yuppies. Take NTUC's DXO for example. The club tried to revamp its image but because it is linked to NTUC, yuppies didn't quite take the bait.

Consumer life is of crucial importance to everyday life. To segment this market, companies need to understand yuppies' lifestyles and behaviors.

Photographs

Went to Yin Yin Fashion to tailor my pants and jacket. Jesica Phang, from my previous company, had recommended me to this place. Lotsa tourists, especially those staying at Amara Hotel, frequent this store. Really friendly services, whose boss happened to be Jessica Yeo's mother.

And if you happen to need to dry-wash your jacket, there's this store on the 1st level that charge really cheap rates! Only S$3.50 to dry-clean a jacket.

To avoid paying ERP, park at the public car-park just behind Borders. But beware of the wardens there. I was still reversing into the lot when the car beside me kena summon.

See the white van? Yeap, those wardens come in a gang.

The next time you visit the toilet at Far East Plaza, take careful note of the toilet bowls. Water may come splashing your way.

Talking about FEP, I felt I was the oldest creature when I was there this afternoon. Until, I saw 3 aunties. And something about 'em freaked me out.

But the thing about photographing your day... is that there are memories you can keep despite of an awful day.

Mail Order Bride's Meme

We all have friends who have things we envy - and not necessarily material objects, but perhaps character traits, or lifestyle choices, or opportunities.

Leave a comment, please, saying what you find envious about me, then repost this in your journal so I can say what I find envious about you!

Role Play

Quote of the Day - "She sucks at sucking? Anyone can give a blowjob if it's just putting their lips around the head. There's a lot of skills to a blowjob. It won't be called a fucking job if you don't attain the skills and the dedication to work hard for an orgasm!" (Mamoyo, 2006)

So today was Diversity Day. What's that?

It's a day where we cross-dress learn to appreciate various cultures. So there were departments who came as Indians, Japanese and so forth. Our area were allocated the Middle East countries.

Everyone was enthusiastic about the whole event. When I walked in at 8:30, my department was already 70% done up. It caused alot of excitment, which meant good news to me. Playing time! Heh.

Some of 'em came as early as 7:30 to help decorate the place. Even the AVP was so game about it, dolling herself up and helping to do up the area.

Before I reached the office, I had already thought of a perfect excuse. Or so I thought.

I came as a Egyptian gay man, dressed in Egyptian cotton.

But the ladies disapproved it. In fact, they had prepared me a costume. And so... I became 'Da Shiekh'.

Don't laugh.

For today, ok at least until 1pm, I became a very rich man, and had my own palace. I do nothing but smoke and play with my animals the entire day.

People come from lands afar, just to see my camels.

Felix: Seems everyone loves the camels.

Jasmine: Because camels have 2 humps.

Pictures were taken and I decided I should treat myself to breakfast. I had toasts and tea and in between bites, phone calls kept coming in. I walked to another department and walked passed a cable room, girls were giggling. Kaoz. I even heard one said, "So cartoon!"

Felix turned into Pokemon.

There were girls who approached one of my colleagues and asked if they could be my wives.

Girl: I want to be his 17th wife.

Nancy: Why 17th? I'd rather be his latest wife. Scarli he got 100 wives how! 17th would kena kicked away.

Today, I was named "The Magnet" by the Paym3nts department.

I decided to take off the garb because it makes running around hard. And I was feeling so hot! Embarrassing myself wasn't quite my concern though.

I was about to leave at 1 to meet Gerrie, when Elaine appeared with a camera and everyone asked me to don the clothes again. So here we have...

A big happy family.

This is what you get for working in an all-girls department.

Was glad to meet my real missus for lunch before heading home.

Gerrie forced me to do exercise before I could lick my finger.

And lo and behold... our first jigsaw puzzle!

Fine. Gerrie did most of it.

Good night!
