Sunday Is Car Day

At 7am, the alarm rang. Pulled myself outta bed and headed to pick WK and Mich up. We reached the garage in M@laysia at 840am. Soon after, TX reached. We left Blackathy at the garage to have the timing and fan belt to be changed and went to have breakfast.

TX brought us to this place and we ordered bak ku teh and dim sum. I wasn't a lover for bak ku teh but I thought it was really nice.

All ate up.

When breakfast was all done, we went to Jusc0 where Mich did her shopping spree. TX and I did ours at Brothers. I got myself a 'Nightmare Before Christmas' sunshade. We received a call from Anthony saying he had reached the garage and that Blackathy was all done.

Back at the garage, TX did his servicing, while Anthony helped with the installation of the fog lights. The two of us had much problem but ended up fixing it. We then went to H0liday Plaza to have our lunch.

Breakfast was not digested yet, so I helped myself to a drink. Which came in an enormous size.

While the rest did their shopping at the shopping centre, WK and I had our haircut. It wasn't that fantastic but def. better than the Reds at City Square.

We continued to roam around Pel@ngi Leisure Mall before having our dinner.

Def. one of our hot spots. The place offers a scenic view.

But what's important is the food. We all love the nasi lemak there.

A car wash sums up the entire journey and guess I got to hit the sack soon.

Nights.

Updates

Seriously how can one focus on work for the past few days? With all the booze, parties, meeting new people with cool names such as Eboney... it's a wonder.

Spent the eve of Christmas hoping time would just fly by when the majority worked half day only. HX and I lunched at Tea P@rty Cafe, having scones, fries and tea.

The scones there were perfect, but what was missing that day was their in-house sauce. Jam does the trick though. We just sat back and read magazines, slacking for an hour - the longest I had for months!

An hour wasn't enough for us to digest the pastries and I couldn't have much during our br@nch Christmas gathering.

It wasn't a gathering per se, but it was fun to wine and dine without talking shop. The girlies left early, leaving we 4 sales staff slacking. We wrapped things up by me and W1ck1 finishing a bottle of wine each.

Spent Christmas with the boys at WK's place. Telly progs were watched, cards were played and gifts were exchanged. Had a headache the next day after all those wine and beer.

Christmas was spent at home sleeping. Woke up close to 5pm, watched Love Actually, suppered with HQ and ended up losing sleep that night.

Woke up on Boxing day grouching and sleepy but got my act together and went to work. It was a long day, with me rushing off to Center for a meeting by one of the fund man@gers. They would be launching a new fund. Interesting but I doubt most peps would get the technicality aspect of it.

Blackathy's lips were kissed by some stupid hump. Took a day off to go M@lays1a with KB. Met Anthony half-way and watched Alien vs Predator 2 with him while getting a spray job for Blackathy.

Nightfall. I picked Gwen up to meet Samantha, who invited us to H5BC's 0ps private party at M0S. Met lots of familiar faces. Hugs and kisses were exchanged and soon we filled ourselves up with beer and vodkas. Photos were taken and LM was complaining I didn't take any with her. We took one, only after she handled her camera to Liz saying 'It costs over $2000'.

The party was huge fun, def. better than what they had at Viv0 last year. The theme's retro but we just stood by the bar drinking. Sam had to leave for another party and so the rest of us went to the smoking area. Jasmine was really nice to buy us more drinks and we had shots. Out of nowhere, a girl bought me a beer and asked me to down it in one go.

I had difficulty waking up the next day but work comes first. Sped to work and had breakfast with the girlies. Dazed through the morning and went grocery shopping after that.

Bought probably the most expensive bread I ever bought. Raisin plait and baguette for ten bucks at Simply Bread. Had that for lunch and dinner while watching Heartbreak Kid, 881 and I now pronunce you Chuck and Larry.

Going in M@laysia tml morning again with WK, Mich and TX.

Nights.

At Last

Finally... a proper break for me.

B0ss proposed that I should take a breather and gave me off for this Fri and Sat. =) Still, I didn't get my rest. I watched Witch Yoo Hee till 6am, dozed off for awhile and continued to watch at 11.

Was at my branch's BBQ this evening. B0ss entrusted his money to play while he went for his appointment. Managed to win $100 for him.

Love my Agnes B bling.

Continuing with my Witch Yoo Hee series. Nights.

P0litics

Club M0n0 on Wednesday.

It was a "I look at you, you look at me" kinda event. More than 5 branches came together at Club M0n0 to celebrate the success we had over the year. The only positive thing I can come up with is its buffet and drinks.

One of the best buffet I ever had. Its dishes were unique and the private rooms screamed "Wah, so atas". We had Hennessy the entire night. I called it quits before things got out of hand and I saw myself out of the door alone to get a cab.

I had a massive headache and compelled myself to lie in bed the entire day. Woke up nearly at 4 and watched 'Witch Yoo Hee'. Determined not to waste the day, I got KB and HQ out for dinner.

We had HQ's car 'vandalised'.

Just had coffee. Doubt I would be able to sleep tonight. Heng got Crunchy R0ll. =)

The Final Birthday Installation

Everyone was feeling tired after the branch outing. With 3 hours of sleep, I reported to work. It felt like eternity before we could call it a day. I picked HQ and Gerrie up and went to Sim Lim to get the 5ing@p0re map. At $65, I considered it expensive. Nevertheless, GPS may one day save me.

Gerrie had made some reservations at G00d W00d Park H0tel, which unfortunately most of the members couldn't make it. We arrived at 3, ready for its high-tea buffet spread, which comprised mainly pastries. The session was accompanied by piano-playing and a view of its swimming pool. The garden acted as its backdrop, which liven the buffet hall.

Anthony arrived slightly later but gave me a little surprise.

Anthony: Sorry I got no time to buy you present.

Me: Nvm la, you where got buy present one?

I was taken aback when he presented me a red packet. =)

The aftermath.

We stayed there for almost 2.5hours, even witnessing a wedding procession. Anthony had to rush off for a wedding dinner and dropped us off at Great W0rld. Finding movie tickets were almost impossible and we decided a walk would do us good after all the cake-eating.

GW remained a b0ring place but there was this really unique furniture shop: iwannagohome. Things are costly, but it gives a oh-so-cool image. Imagine your living hall drapped in white-black concept with a vampish-looking sofa.

Anyway, we took the free shuttle bus back to Orchard. Then a 5B5 bus to Mid-p0int Orchard. Just to get back to the car. -.-

We drove to Halo Bar and waited awhile for TX and Sherri. Gerrie spent 80% of the time there playing pool, becoming the unofficial champion; HQ spent 80% of his time waiting for his songs to be played.

Received another surprised: TX and Sherrie got me a cake! =)

That night, I got another surprise. Theresa got me a Gap shirt and an Adidas singlet. =)

Sunday.

The family had dinner at Soup Restaurant, with no less than 6 courses. Mom gave me a big red packet. After dinner, we went to watch The Warlords, which made the rest of the Sunday lousy. I don't know but the movie sucked, with all the killings and all. So depressing.

They had bought me a mango cake earlier but I guess it was too late for celebration.

Nevertheless, I'm happy I need not work today. =)

The Dinner

Some of us had reached N0ble H0use early and were ushered to two private rooms. We were expecting 18 of us, excluding Cat and Roz. Each room can hold slightly over 10 persons. We eagerly took our seats and began ordering the food, even before the arrival of our b0ss.

One of the weirdest dish I had was the pigeon soup. The soup tasted nice per se, but I couldn't say the same for the pigeon meat. The food was slightly above average and wasn't expensive, prolly 35++ per pax. But one of the most over-rated dish was the B-jump-over-the-wall. Nice meh?

So atas for what?

Each room comes with KTV sets. And along the evening, they switched off the lights and sang an extended birthday song version. We played some games also and I won a cow soft-toy from Guardian. So much for excitement uh. I wished I had gotten the chocolate fondue set. In any case, I think Pe@rly did a wonderful job putting the act together.

We ended the evening with more KTV-ing. I was FORCED to sing 2 songs.

Total embarrasement.

We didn't went as wild as I had wished. But it turned out to be nicer than expected. Could be better if Cat could come and their internal quarrel could be resolved.

B0ss was really nice to send me all the messages.

Shall 'repay' him by drinking on behalf of him during next week's 'p0litical' private party.

Updates on more bd celebration later.

Anniversary

14 December 2007.

When mid-night striked, there was a phone call. From Gerrie. Happy birthday, she said.

Then Jasmine.

Then Sophia.

HQ and Huixian wished me before the Hour came.

I woke up to a message from Elizabeth. Was quite surprised she remembered.

HX was so nice to pick me up from my place and we went to buy breakfast for everyone in the branch. It was the cleaner auntie's birthday as well, and I had forgotten about it! I felt so guilty.

Then Meng Ch00, Roz, Mandy, Samantha and Guang Hui's messages came in.

Was taken aback when I received a couriered package from Sop.

Sharon was really nice to buy me lunch at Wiener Kaffeehaus. What a treat!

Branch was packed today, much to our delight. How I wish things are like that everyday.

Dinner would be at Noble House. Sianz.

Talk later.

Tiring Week

Gracias to Auntie Serina for her support.

The r0adshow last Sunday was of upmost importance to me, but it turned out to be very disappointing.

In any case, HQ had me and Suelyn out for some drinks.

Becoming an alc0h0lic.

There were some silent moments. After all, it had been more than 8 years since I last saw her. It's interesting to just look back at how things had changed. Or rather how people had changed. After 2 glasses each, she treated us to Ind0ne5ian. =)

HQ was also very nice. We got to watch G0lden C0mpass on his expense. Lol.

Talking about changes... I used to remind people prices of n00dles and rice are going up and that they should invest. Some laughed, some shrugged it off. Then they started to panic when prices of petr0l, diesel, cab fares went up.

There is a name to this.

Her name is Inflation.

She comes silently, but swiftly. But there are many people who stick by time dep0sits. Oh well...

We had training this evening on the l@unch of the new tr@nche of structured dep0sits. It would be super challenging to present as there are technicalities inv0lved. But I'm certain this tr@nche is advantage0us to the cust0mers.

On a separate note, me and my c0lleagues are so cl0se we are like family members. Because we see each other everyday.

HX had asked me to drive her home this evening and to pick her up tml. Thus, her R2 would be parked at my place.

R2 and Blackathy

Apparently, Gerrie wasn't too happy about it.

Geez.

Another month to go. Bear with it.

Our new commitment.

Blackathy, 9:01 PM

Blah Blah Blah

Gracias to William, Pearlyn, Verlyn, Tisha, Angeline, Linda, Cindy and Germaine. The surprise wasn't well-concealed but I love the attention. =)

Ended the night with the girlies from my branch. And I drank the entire jug on my own.

Updates

Equ1t1es are on the rise again. With that, it's a g00d time to l00k at the market before the prices get too 'high' again. One of the most underl00ked mode of inve5tments is using your CPF-S@. With the int. rate given, it may not even beat the inflati0n rate. Thus, you may want to c0nsider investing your S@.

The chart below shows the performance of the funds available in inve5tment-linked p0licy. I've included @berdeen funds, @IGIF funds (in @I@), PRU funds (in Prud3nti@l) and HG1F funds (in H5BC). @berdeen funds are one of the best you may want to inc0rporate in your insur@nce pl@ns.

Be it looking at un1t tru5t5, or insur@nce pl@ns, you may c0nsider l00king for me. =)

I Love Hatchbacks!

It used to be the Civic.

Then the Alfa Romeo.

Now the Golf.

In case you didn't realise, there are 4 models in the Golf line.

Golf. The basic 1.6l.

Golf GT Sport. 1.4l, accompanied with a combination of both a turbocharger and a mechanically driven supercharger.

Golf GTI. 2l, turbo.

Golf R32. The fastest and most powerful Golf in production. And I finally saw it on the streets. Outside the branch. Absolutely stunning.

Another gorgeous hatchback... the Audi A3.

I love curves!

F*cking Friday

Terrible week. HORRIBLE day.

Felt so frustrated, especially today. Not going beyond this two sentence to describe how depressing it was for me.

Haiz.

On a lighter note, the dejected trio (Cat, Wicki and me) were walking towards GH's C0ld St0rage. Wicki put up a dare: Wear a hat from the br@nch to CS and he would buy me a can of beer.

Easy peasy.

I'll do anything for my beer.

HQ and I planned our outing this evening a little too late. Couldn't get seats to Hitman. I love that game! Lol...

Thanks HQ!!! I really like the shirt.

Meeting up with TX and James also was one of the best way to wind down my Friday.

Onwards tomorrow!

Cars

The headlight bulbs had fused. I've gotten KB to come down to go to Aut0bacs with me. While he was lking at the fuse box, I went for a test drive in his Civic. Really neat.

But something happened. His battery died on him and we had to push his car to get it 'alive'. Minutes later, we arrived at Aut0bacs to get the bulbs.

(from left to right) The super distant dream. And the distant reality.

Anyway, I was washing the car just now and was approached by an insurance agent, who wanted to quote me for the aut0-insurance. I was looking for several quotes but too bad this came a little wee too late.

Anyway, after looking at my namecard, he asked me if I wanted to join his team.

Like that also can.
