Shop Talk

Dinesh has something to say. He writes. Think I'm boring? Read it all here. Heh, just kidding. Now, all of you don't go around falling in love with his blog.
m)phosis, Boss and Burberry kicked start its sale.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm such a lady. Oopx. I mean, a
I was busy editing my team's work after school this afternoon while the 3 girls were talking about having cakes at Canele and Hang-Out, or organizing some blind dates only to have that guy pay $300 for the dinner. I couldn't care much and hurried myself to finish their work. I felt cheap. -_-"
Was really happy to see Geraldine today. Poor girl had to work till 5:30pm. We had dinner at her place, where we bought crabs and prawns with cereals from the No Signboard restaurant. Was glad everyone had a good time. The food may be good, but the company was even better.
We headed down to town, where we barged into Burberry boutique even though the salesman was repeatedly saying to everyone, "Sorry, we are closed." Anyway, I read its advert yesterday, saying there would be a 65% reduction, but there was only 30%!
At its counter in Taka deparment store, a queue was formed. I mean it's only 30% lar! But by judging the number of people holding the Burberry paper bags this evening, I guess people are more willing to spend. Was rather disappointed I couldn't get my polo tee though, which cost over $270.
Into its 2nd day, GSS started rather sluggishly, with stores only offering 10-30% reductions. GG>5 was an exception though. Recent years had seen this retailer only to hold promotions at the weirdest times, prolly only when GSS was about to end. This time round, they are having an up-to-70% reduction promo.
Not only is it slow, GSS is sexist, I tell ya. Ferragamo was holding a sale in Taka where Coach used to house in. I went in with the intention to look at its shoes, only to find women's stuff. Talk about grooming men. -_-"
GSS is boring. Geraldine and I spotted stuff only to realise they were nett-priced. Those that were on sale aren't really that nice. Had in mind not to make any purchase in June. Wanted to save for a Dunhill bag. But the one that I like is a new arrival. Sian 1/2.

Wisma's mid-night shopping was rather disappointing. Sure, the building was packed, but prolly only because people still think late shopping is interesting. Most of its retail outlets are only providing 10% discount.
Was able to get a total of 25% discount at Lacoste, thanks to Geraldine's U0B card. Thought the cutting was better than Polo and Burberry's. This French label's polo tees come in a wide variety of colours. Check 'em out. Each for $99.
Was at G0ldheart when this salesman said to us, "Now, we are having 50% discount for U0B card-h0lders till 28th May."
I replied curtly, "Aiya, after 28th May, there would still be a sale of 50% discount."
That man went quiet.
Yes, Goldheart, Lee Hwa and Soo Kee are having up to 50% reduction now.
Gooogled for Lee Hwa and I came to this site.
Excerpt:
The article offered to give away diamond engagement rings if any man dared to propose to his girlfriend at Suntec. But then again, how many self-respecting girls would think it's romantic and really appreciate an lucky draw engagement ring that their boyfriends didn't personally choose, and whose wallets didn't bleed for. I guess none. Even the thriftiest would want their boyfriends to pay for it!
No free lunches in this world. Not even love. Food for thought.
At Zara, saw one of Mom's friend and her family. The couple was asking me to give their son tips on looking good in suits. So I told them Zara was definitely a better choice than G2k, despite the price differences. Zara's are 2-buttoned, more slim cut and used better material.
Actually, I felt so envious. I was tellin' Geraldine that how I wished my parents had done this for me. About buying me a suit when I just started work. It would be so nice if dad brought me to Zara to choose a black suit. I have seen so many families at Zara, fussing over their sons on getting that perfect outfit.
It's not about the money, nor the gift. Rather the pampering and love.
Sorry if I bored you guys. I know I sounded like one shopping commentator. Go live your pathetic lives now, while I wallow in self-pity.
