Chasing Monday Blues

I thought the best way to chase away the Monday blues was to un-blue myself.

Something tells me apparently it doesn't.

Was so glad when the day ended. Got a little surprised by Gerrie who later appeared at my building. Awfully Chocolate made our day.

Went to Suntec to meet WK. Spent almost an hour at Lee Hwa to help him pick an engagement ring. Learnt quite abit on choosing the types of diamonds. Didn't know Lee Hwa has bought over Goldheart though.

The sales guy said that diamonds from Lee Hwa and Tiffany is the same: GIA certified. The price difference is due to the brand and the setting itself.

Lee Hwa sells Destinee range as well. Which is a brand by itself. Just that 'cus Lee Hwa is a public-listed company and has won the rights to sell these diamonds. Definitely more expensive, as it takes months to cut the diamonds. Lee Hwa's 1 carat diamonds are going for $16 - 17k, whereas Destinee's are $19k onwards.

Weddings are such costly affairs.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Life is like buying diamonds. Sometimes we just have to compromise on certain things. When it comes to buying diamonds, we need to work out our budget. From there, we can ascertain the size and the clarity of the diamonds. Most of us do not have the luxury to be able to choose both size and clarity of the diamonds without compromising on the prices.

In life, we learn to compromise and accept how things work or turn out. But hardly could we find ourselves sitting back and enjoy how stories unfold itself.

As I watch WK picked out a 0.45 carat ring, I looked back at the past. We were best buds in school. And now, 12 years later, at the age of 27, he has his career, and is about to propose to the lady of his life.

I got excited for him, thinking when it would be my turn.

For now, I have promised to help him pick his clothes. I am an individualist. I believe in my style, though I hate it when others try to copy. The more people love a particular thing, the more I detest it.

But on a special occassion like this, I wouldn't mind.

If only I have listen to my heart and did fashion.

Guess we can't have everything in life. Learn to compromise and accept the way things turn out to be.
