Friday

Short Talk:

Stat Counter told me I have 58 page loads today. There are 46 are unique visitors, of which 12 are first time visitors and the remaining 34 are returning visitors. Interestingly, majority of the readers came from foreign places, like
lulathebigtourist (from Turkey), cantardeamigo (from Portugal), and prettypuddleglum (from the United States). There are over 19 unknown referrals, and I don't blame 'em for not saying hi.

I mean I got people from
France and Arab, and how do I expect them to say "Oh gosh, you're so cute!"

-___-

But then again, there's always
Free Translation.

Singaporeans made up the majority here (79%), followed by the Americans, French, Malaysians, the English, Egyptians, Canadians, Indians, Fillipinos and erm... Norwegians. Sorry to Norway, if I spelt it wrongly.

Thing is... why no one ever bother to say Hi and Bye anymore? Man, I really feel like a manwhore.

Gracias to Jonnyboy who has been saying hi all these while.

As each day passes by, we all look forward to Fridays. To some of us, it means it's dress down day. To some of us, it means it's the last day of the working week. Waking up in the mornings is the hardest thing to do. But a ride with Blackathy would be a consolation of the day. It somehow perks me up when I greet Blackathy in the morning, saying how pretty she looks and I just love the way she moans. Right. I succeeded in making Blackathy sounds she's a living person. Sheesh.

This week has been quite slack at work. The system has not been running smoothly and it takes a couple of days to run the reports for all ports in a particular country. For the past few weeks, the auditor has been calling me to enquire on Egypt's, and I built this phobia whenever I hear her voice.

*slaps her with a trout*

Caught reading

I have finished Eleven Minutes today. I wouldn't consider it a beautiful story, but it somehow teaches you about life and the importance of exploring each other. I couldn't accept the fact that people actually enjoy sadomasochism. Deriving pleasure from pain. Or that sometimes we love being ordered to do something, hoping it would lead into an adverture. But before I could protest about the pain and pleasure theory, it says we sometimes have to give up dreams and ideals to make our parents happy. Same way, our parents work hard just to give us good things. I'm not sure if I would subscribe this way, but it seems logical enough.

Anyway, generating reports is really tiring. Or rather boring. Especially when I have to run for a year period. One port itself could take 2 hours. I could spend my time reading secretly. But usually, I would doze off. Just today, David sniggered when he caught me napping.

There were a couple of us who had reached office at least 45 minutes late from lunch break just this week alone. On Monday, we went shopping at Taka, and today, we were at Suntec for the PC Fair. The unfortunate thing was Thomas and I were caught red handed today. Boss didn't seem to mind though. So nice. =)

I thought PC Fair was not too bad. Thomas purchase a 17" Samsung LCD for only over $250, while two other colleagues got 50ny cameras for over $620 only. It even came with a 1GB memory stick!

Just yesterday and this evening, I texted Gerrie I liked the camera model and she said she could get it for me. I thought it looked really sleek but shall stick with this trusty Canon. I was showing WK the brochure just now and he told me not to get 50ny. Canon would still be the better choice.

I trust his judgement. After all, he works at 50ny and travels to China and Japan so frequently Anthony disturbed him saying, "So when are you going back to your country?" Pity his girlfriend though; they hardly had time to see each other.

On a lighter note, WK is going to propose to her! He would be looking at rings for the next few days!

At 50ny, he's now involved in the production of PS3. How cool is that!

Back to the PC Fair, while you're checking out the deals over there, there's no way you could miss the promoters. Check out the Samsung booth. But for those of you who want to skip the crowd, at least visit here.

I'm getting fat. Period. Have been working hard to satisfy our cravings. Gerrie and I had Korean and Japanese over the week. Thank goodness Crystal Jade was packed today! Else have to spend more money. Heh. She's sweet to oblige to eat at KFC this evening. =) Been such a long time and it tasted so nice!

Mail Order Bride had it today as well and her post made me feel fat.

Am glad Thomas proposed us eating at Amoy next week.

I have been calling up Lee Hwa to check when I could collect the ring. Thomas and I were late today, largely because we were waiting for the despatch lady to arrive. But after 25 minutes into 2pm, we decided we couldn't wait anymore. We were lucky to get a cab. En route to office, Evangeline from LH called to say the ring has arrived.

Sianz. Sianz. Sianz. Sianz. Sianz.

I had wanted to collect the ring this afternoon 'cus I didn't want to make another trip to Suntec. The PC Fair had attracted so many people and it was so hard to find a parking lot. You should have seen how long taxi queeue was! The queeue started just outside the Convention Centre and it snaked to Starbucks. So horrible can!

Nevertheless, Gerrie and I braved the traffic this evening and managed to find a lot at Millenia Walk. And I'm glad she loves the ring. The diamond may be small, but it's the best I could afford now. My pay is shitty can.

I love three-prong solitaire rings. It's harder to find, making it more exclusive. It also exposes more of the diamond, which makes it look bigger, compared to the four-prong rings.

Met KB at Kallang Mac, where he was with the West Siders. before going down to the NUS prata shop. Tingxi, Waikit, James and Anthony came later. Something tells me KB's friend was left out completely. Heh.

Later, KB and his friend left for Ma1aysia, while the rest of us adjourned to West Coast Park. We had drinks at McDonald's while waiting for Guoliang to arrive. Did lots of catching up. Poor guy came over from work at 2am, and he has to return for work again at 8am.

There is something different from secondary friends and the rest. They are friends who have seen you grow and I guess there are no topics you can't talk about.

Ended the night outside Zhenhao's place to see his parked Evo 8. Interestingly, he's in Aussie now, leaving the car here to rot.

Talk about being rich.
