Happy Birthday, Venky
Was very impressed by the clinic, which was superb big. After I got a queeue number, I have to wait for my turn to have the registration processed. There was a total of 6 counters! They even have an in-house lab to test urine and blood.
After which, I had my eyesight tested, and my height and weight recorded. So ashamed that I have put on so much weight. I'm over 60kg already! Had my x-ray done, seen the doctor and in an hour, everything was done.
Went on to meet the girls at Coffee Bean. So much for slacking on a Saturday. Was actually looking forward to Awfully Chocolate but they didn't open today so the next best alternative is a mocha.
Still... nothing beats having lunch with Gerrie. Poor girl has to work this morning and we had to compromise our time for the next few weeks. She had to go home to practise her piano while I returned back to CB to meet the girls.
Took Blackathy out for a ride after a wash. Went shopping alone. Something tells me I'm becoming like an uncle, learning to bargain prices. Something I don't do in the past.
I went to Sim Lim to look for a FM Transmitter to play my iPod in Blackathy. Interestingly, prices seemed to get cheaper as you 'escalate' the building. Some shops were selling those transmitters for like $50-140. Found the cheapest one for $29.90.
Felix: Can go lower anot?
Seller: Can. Give you $26 lor.
Felix: $25 lah.
Seller: Ok lah.
There was once I even helped Gerrie saved a cool hundred bucks.
Earlier, Venky had sent me an invitation card to his birthday party at Grassroots Club.Shopped the entire Bugis but I couldn't find anything nice to give to Venky. Ended buying him a shirt at Zara Marina Square.
Had 7 guys reporting directly to me back in the army, and Venky is considered one of the closest.

Be it in office or outfield, we went through the lows and the downs together, shared problems together and no matter how screwed up he was or how I fucked him, we still remained brothers.
Venky's 21st birthday party was amazing. Not quite the usual party I attended before.

He has his personal DJ, professional photographer, waiters and wait, you're not going to believe this!
His own dance entourage! How cool was that!
Even his dad became the emcee, hosting the 'How well do you know Venka' segment, which was rather interesting. But I guess the highlight of the day was when they showed his childhood photos.
So cute!

Raced to meet Gerrie. Was so apologetic for making her wait. Felt so bad I couldn't see her mom home. Felt so stupid for not being sensitive enough to know she actually wanted me to watch her perform.
I'm terribly sorry, my darling.

It has been such a long time the both of us went for dates. As a couple, you do many stuff together. You go shopping, you watch movies... but I wouldn't really consider 'em dates. If you go shopping, half the time spent would be on walking, and then the rest of the time looking at stuff.
Going on dates means taking extra effort to dress up, go somewhere nice for drinks and be romanced. To be lost in your own world.
The two of us wouldn't be seeing each other at all for the whole of next week. Uploaded the background music for her. If you have watched Love Actually, you would have identified the song.
A song about finding love, finding hope. Gerrie and I might have lost ten years, but I believe we can have the rest of our lives to rediscover each other.
Love Actually is such a beautiful show. One of the best romantic comedy ever made.
