B@ngk0k
We had always wanted to go as a br@nch, and thus we took advantage of the long weekend and planned this trip.
The last time I was in B@ngk0k was approx. 10years ago. The moment I stepped into their airp0rt, I was amazed. Amazed by how beautiful their airport was.
We quickly got into the cabs and hurried our feets to check into the hotel r00ms. Less than 5 minutes later, we took another cab ride to P@r@gon to have dinner.
Dinner was at GreyHound cafe. A beautiful place, which holds an artistry feel. HX, who was there just a month ago, placed the order.
We had ice-lemon tea, which the ice were already soaked into the tea.
Salad.
Their famous wings.
Spag.
Mushrooms.
The rest of the night was spent roaming around in P@r@gon. We split into 2 groups, but the majority went to see inner-wear, so I walked around on my own. I got my fcuk wax, a Castro tee and was contemplating on this dkny tie.
P@ragon was great, housing international brands. Its boutiques are even nicer than what we have here.
By 9ish, I grabbed the 2 girls in search for a cake. We hunted the entire basement, which was filled with bakeries and cafes. At 10, the group met at this Italian resturant, which I had earlier made reservations.
I picked a bot of Italian red wine. Not exactly the most expensive, but at $90, it was to me.
The girls were not really wine-people, so I ended finishing most of it.
I couldn't sleep that night.
I was hungry at 3 in the morning.
I was waiting for the sun to come up.
I pulled myself out of bed, with a massive headache, and did my exercise in the balcony.
At 7, I went to the swimming pool and began reading my M0dule 1 text, which I had passed!!!
At 9, the girls came down from the rooms and we had a hearty breakfast. It was a pity the other tables were packed. I was hoping we could eat by the pool, and enjoy the sun.
We immediately took a cab to CenterW0rld. Another HUGE shopping center.
We were waaaaaay too early for the shop opening, so the girls busied themselves with posing for the cameras. A couple of hours later, people rushed into the building. Again, the girls went to look at inner-wear, so I walked around the place myself.
It was so atas.
This time round, I bought a Jim Thompson for Gerrie.
And I have to carry BAGS of stuff for the ladies.
-.-
Another cab ride took us to Chinatown.
Where the girls continued their shopping for fruits.
This is the part which I hated.
It was absolutely hot and humid.
Things may be cheap, but we later learnt that it wasn't in their context. Supermarkets in shopping centers can be cheaper.
But that aside, it was good to learn the lifestyle people led there. Everything was fresh. We tasted the fruits, we drank the juices...
We came to a temporary stop at this makeshift store.
Not exactly the cleanest.
But it was alright. The food was not bad.
A few hours later, we were hunting for sh@rk fins' soup.
Like all Chin3se restaurants, food was meant to be shared.
But we decided to have a HUGE bowl by ourselves.
And we had another bowl of bird nest.
And we had scallop.
It was an unique experience on its own.
Took another cab ride to P@ragon again, only this time round, we decided to walk into the boutiques. One of them bought a C0ach there, despite knowing there was going to be a sale soon.
Again, I walked around myself and bought another Jim Thomson for Gerrie.
After Hagen Daz, we went shopping for groceries. I bought some stuff for family members and customers. The mangoes were oh so sweet!
By then, my feet were killing me. I had wanted the girls to help me tabao. But I managed to pull myself out of the room and got into the streets with them. We thought we should try some local flavours and entered into this store.
Not exactly the most delicious.
An interesting thing that happened this trip was that I went for my FIRST massage.
I did a body massage on the first night. Under the influence of alcohol.
Then I did a foot massage on the second night. Under the pressure of the girls.
And no, I still don't like massages.
I was dog tired that night. After a can of beer and some durians, I fell asleep.
For only 3 hours.
We took the morning flight and touched base at prolly 10ish.
I spent more money at dfs than when I was in B@ngkok. Irony, isn't it.
Bought 2 bottles of wine, a Dior stick and a Dior parfum set for Gerrie.
And another bottle of YSL for myself.
Nights.
